All our Riverside South MYC students participated in this year’s Composition Festival and we enjoyed playing and listening to each of their songs. For many it was their first time ever composing and they did a really great job!
We wanted to say a special CONGRATULATIONS to Kyla Yan in Emma’s Sunshine 1 class and Carmen Hill in my Moonbeams 1 class for both receiving an HONORABLE MENTION for their songs. This is their first year as composers!
To hear their songs just click on the video below!

All students will be receiving a HUGE sticker at the end of the year to recognize the hard work that went into completing their compositions.
Every year we look forward to the Composition Festival as we love being able to see how the students hear music in their heads and are able to let all of us peak in for a moment and hear what they hear. You should all be very proud!

This year I was invited to be one of the reviewers, so I spend the week at the Head Office in Kanata playing through everyone’s songs. To know that so many MYC teachers, all over the world, are teaching their students how to compose, starting at age 4 . . . WOW! It was a really special experience and privilege to be apart of it all!
We can’t wait to hear what next year’s compositions will sound like!
