Every year we look forward to the Composition Festival as we love being able to see how the students hear music in their heads and are able to let all of us peek in for a moment and hear what they hear. You should all be very proud!
All our Riverside South MYC students participated in this year’s Composition Festival and we enjoyed playing and listening to each of their songs. For many it was their first time ever composing and they did a really great job!
We wanted to say a special CONGRATULATIONS to Vanessa Yin for 2nd PLACE IN EASTERN CANADA and Norah Webb (SB1), Angelina Zhu (MB1) and Carmen Hill (MB1) for receiving HONORABLE MENTIONS for their songs.

I was invited for the second year to be one of the reviewers, so I spend the week at the Head Office in Kanata playing through everyone’s songs. To know that so many MYC teachers, all over the world, are teaching their students how to compose, starting at age 4 . . . WOW! It was a really special experience and privilege to be apart of it all
